BLEPHARITIS

Blepharitis is an inflammation of the lash follicles at the eyelid margins. The cause is excess growth of bacteria that is normally present in skin. This inflammation is commonly caused by allergies or bacterial infection and sometimes a combination of the two. The symptoms of this disease can appear as red, itchy skin around the eyelid margin. In some instances, loss of hair in the affected areas can be observed.
